Electrostatics is about “charge,” and about the attract/repel forces which electric charge creates. The motion or “staticness” of the charge is irrelevant. After all, the forces are still there even when the charges start flowing. And charges which are separated or imbalanced can sometimes flow along, yet the “static” effects are undiminished when the current begins. In other words, it’s perfectly possible to create flows of so-called “static” electricity.
EVERYTHING IS MADE OF ATOMS
ELECTRONS CAN MOVE
The protons and neutrons in the nucleus are held together very tightly. Normally the nucleus does not change. But some of the outer electrons are held very loosely. They can move from one atom to another. An atom that looses electrons has more positive charges (protons) than negative charges (electrons). It is positively charged. An atom that gains electrons has more negative than positive particles. It has a negative charge. A charged atom is called an “ion.”
Imagine a pure gold ring. Divide it in half and give one of the halves away. Keep dividing and dividing and dividing. Soon you will have a piece so small you will not be able to see it without a microscope. It may be very, very small, but it is still a piece of gold. If you could keep dividing it into smaller and smaller pieces, you would finally get to the smallest piece of gold possible. It is called an atom. If you divided it into smaller pieces, it would no longer be gold.
Everything around us is made of atoms. Scientists so far have found only 115 different kinds of atoms. Everything you see is made of different combinations of these atoms.
PARTS OF AN ATOM
So what are atoms made of? In the middle of each atom is a “nucleus.” The nucleus contains two kinds of tiny particles, called protons and neutrons. Orbiting around the nucleus are even smaller particles called electrons. The 115 kinds of atoms are different from each other because they have different numbers of protons, neutrons and electrons.

Dear Everyone, I can’t believe that the FCAT is in 5 days. The day before FCAT we have to get a good amount of sleep and a yummy nutricious breakfast that morning to be able to focus during the FCAT. On FCAT week we get to have a morning snack, an afternoon snack, and a small drink. FCAT is a very big test and is very important. It shows how much you have accomplished throughout the year and you can see if you have progressed. You can take the FCAT in math, reading, science, and the FCAT writes.

My favorite animal is a turtle because the day before yesterday I went down to the lake and I saw a turtle. My brother saw it too. We gave him bread and we named the turtle Bradley. Turtles are very cute and lovely!! Turtles have a hard shell and protect themselves from predators that want to feast upon them. A predator is an animal that eats another animal called the prey. Turtles can be prey and Predator which means that they are eaten by other animals or organisms and they eat other organisms also. Turtles are green and that’s my Mommy’s favorite color!

I can’t wait till my report is done! My report is on….. pollution. Miss. Young replied to us Friday and and said….. If you blog over the weekend and go on fcatexplorer then you will get lunch bunch on monday. Lunch Bunch is…….. where you get to eat in the classroom, watch TV, and hang out with friends and teachers. I can’t wait till I go to school tomorrow and see all my friends. When we have lunch bunch we get to watch TV and we watch……. Lifesize, a movie on disney channel.

Dear everybody,
guess what happend to my dog? He died. My family is so sad that he died. But he had a bad disease and he was to old. So we took him to the vet and they stopped his heart and breathing.But the vet person said that we did the right thing and my mom did to. But we all started to cry. We were so so so sad. But we had a lot of fun with him. And he was my favorite dog in the world.I love my dog Panther. My mom was so sad beause my dog died.
